In my opinion, to the Treasurer—being added to the Executive Council, but did not concur in the proposal that he should be ex-officio Postmaster General.

Recent events in connection with the Post Office have, I venture to think, been sufficient to show the inexpediency of having the offices of Treasurer and Postmaster combined in one individual, and, unless the appointment of Treasurer is made a separate one, for which I understand there is scarcely sufficient work, I cannot think of any office to which it could be more conveniently combined than that of Registrar General.
But if combined with this office—I do not say "ex-officio" but for the time being, the question arises as to whether it would
